Denim has been staying strong for a couple of seasons now. From acid wash to distressed denim, the options are limitless with this material. Since the material can be transformed or altered into pretty much anything it makes it easier to have multiple items composed of denim. Mixing different washes of denim is an example of having the same material but different looks. You can never have enough denim in your wardrobe you just have to know how to pair them together. Denim on denim for example can be overwhelming sometimes but when done correctly it is a fun quick clean look that anyone can accomplish.
This Fashionisto was spotted pairing denim on denim correctly. By having two different washes of denim it distinguishes the two pieces from each other instead of making it look as if it was one whole piece. In this Fashionisto’s case he paired some fun bleached out overalls with an Aztec print tank underneath and topped it off with a light wash denim vest. Not only was he able to break up the denim pieces with his gray tank but he separated it with the washes of denim. If he had matched the denim colors to be the same it would have made him looked washed out or even dated. This look brings the typical Canadian tuxedo to a more edgy modern day look. To break up the outfit even more from just denim on denim he paired bright red sneakers and a blue snapback to add more color besides the light wash of the denim.
Hint: When pairing denims make sure to pick and match washes accordingly if you are looking to mix denims together.
