As we transition into the fall season, we are bombarded with the newest colors found in Pantone’s Fashion Color Report; emerald, Mykonos blue, acai and samba just to name a few. However, while the fashion world continues to spark more novel creations of a variety of silhouettes, colors and patterns, one trend should always remain ingrained in every Fashionisto’s wardrobe; neutrals.
Take a few pointers from this Fashionisto: by keeping his attire neutral with a pair of camel corduroy pants and accenting them with a pair of brown chukkas and a tan satchel, he was able to rock the bold blue and white checkered print of his button-down. Laid back and down to earth, the organic hues of neutrals keeps this outfit looking cool, comfortable and casual.
The true beauty of a neutral, though, is in the endless possibilities of ensembles. Because of their versatility, earth toned pieces persist to be signature staple pieces in every Fashionisto’s closet. Bold colors, such as red, orange and yellow, complement the subtly of a pair of khakis. Cooler hues, such as navy or hunter green, can also accent tan trousers. Let’s not forget about patterns. For a more playful vibe, throw on a graphic T-shirt with a pair of military green pants or contrast a crisp white button-down with a pair of printed chinos. Regardless of personal preference, neutrals can always pull an outfit together.
Hint: For a monochromatic style, mix and match desert tones; such as a deep beige shirt with a pair of cognac trousers and combat boots.
