I guess I can’t speak for everyone, but I can say this about myself — sometimes getting to class on time is a true struggle. At a school like UCLA, where the campus is big and hilly, you basically have to plan your schedule while asking yourself if you can really get all the way across campus in ten minutes or less. Luckily, I’ve learned since freshman year to avoid those dangerous back-to-back lectures, and this revelation has saved me from arriving to class panting. Sometimes though — it’s just unavoidable.
I caught this Fashionisto as he hurried across campus. Though I could tell he was running late, I couldn’t help but ask him for a quick photo. He wears a casual, on-the-run outfit; while still looking polished and not rushed at all. He combines simple, easy to wear items (dark skinny jeans and a plaid button-down) with pieces that can showcase his personal style like his brown leather shoes, black aviators and trendy black Herschel Supply Co. backpack.
By keeping it simple, he is able to get out the door quickly to that first class. Regardless of how late he is, he could fool anyone — his outfit is classy and well put together. Mixing timeless prints (like plaid) with more neutral items (like blue denim) and leather are a perfect combination any day. Also, wearing nice shoes is the perfect way to show that he put thought into what he is wearing. No matter how late you are, never underestimate the power of a well put together ensemble!
Hint: Don’t forget the sunglasses! Especially in Southern California, sunglasses are almost a necessity all year long. The many different styles available allow you to mix it up, and can be the finishing touch an outfit needs. Try keeping a few different colors and styles on hand so that you’re always prepared.
