LET’S HEAR IT FOR THE BOYS: Monochrome

Let's Hear it for the Boys

Everyone has those days when you just want to throw something on and head out the door. An outfit that does not take much thought but still has an interesting quality to it does the trick for those days. Especially now that finals are over and everyone is on break, an easy outfit to just throw on is everyone’s go to. Monochromatic pieces are easy to wear to create an interesting outfit that works for anything.

I spotted this Fashionisto wearing a charcoal gray jacket, black hoodie, white V-neck T-shirt, blue jeans and black and white sneakers. His jacket brings a utilitarian element to the all classic white T-shirt and jeans look. He plays with different shades and textures to create a dimensional monochromatic look.

Anyone can pull off a great outfit like this and add their own flair to it. Invest in a quality jacket (all stylish people should). Underneath the jacket, wear a gray sweatshirt with a checkered collared shirt peeking out. Add some jeans, sneakers and accessories to finish the look. For a night look, keep the jacket but change into a white button-down, black chinos and black boots.

Hint: When in doubt, wear black, white and every shade in between. They are easy to put together and create an instant outfit. Add different textures to give your outfit some dimension. Pair a knit sweater like this  H&M sweater with a leather jacket from ASOS or a checkered pattern wool jacket with a denim shirt. If you invest in monochromatic staples or already have them, you’re set for life!
