LET’S HEAR IT FOR THE BOYS: Midterm Attire

Let's Hear it for the Boys

It’s time for midterms, the word that brings many experiences into our mind. But in summary we can all agree that they suck. We’re halfway through the semester and the stress and the all-nighters are about to start if they haven’t already. With midterms you also get presentations but that shouldn’t be too much of problem because you can count on looking sharp!

This week‘s Fashionisto caught my eye with his fascinating laid back look with a formal hint. He wore a simple pocketless light sky blue button-up with rolled up sleeves with a tie bar holding his navy polka-dot patterned silk tie in place. Our Fashionisto mixed his combination with dark orange chinos along with sand-toned TOMS shoes and a Breast Cancer Awareness pink bracelet.

Usually when you think of presentations, slacks with dark shoes come to mind. It’s always good to bring change to not only your presentation and speaking skills but also ensemble. The most basic attire for a presentation in my opinion is a button-up, you can’t go without it. Something to take note of is that a tie can give and outfit a whole new look. The same applies to a bow tie which gives any Fashionisto a sense of authority and confidence during test time. Whether you’re meeting with a professor, giving a presentation or simply hanging out with friends this specific chill formal look works. Simply removing the tie gives off a more casual feel.

Hint: Adding a blazer can also give off a more professional look. Play around with even the  smallest things on ensembles, if you’re going to go all dressed up try wearing Converse shoes or Sperry Top-Siders. Be the best you can be, dress to not only impress but also express yourself. Best wishes on these coming midterm dates.
