We have survived midterms and spring break, but everyone still seems to be burnt out. The struggle has gotten even worse as we realize just how close finals truly are. However, recent weather changes have left Fashionistos and Fashionistas across America excited about updating their wardrobes and personal style.
If you were to take a walk across UAB’s “Green,” you would see dozens of boys wearing Ralph Lauren Polo button-downs. The preppy look is a classic, but does not always leave room for originality. When I saw this Fashionisto wearing a printed button-down shirt, I was estactic to see a more vintage take on the classic look. Choosing a safe base color like navy is a way to try a printed look without looking like you are overdoing it.
The first thing I asked this Fashionisto was if his girlfriend had bought his shoes, because most young men don shoes in black or gray. He proudly responded that he picked out these maroon beauties himself. Choosing a suede as opposed to a leather or all-purpose fabric is a fresh twist on a classic item.
Flat-bill hats are typically worn with with T-shirts and loose-fitting jeans. This Fashionisto knows, though, a sharp-looking hat is a perfect complement to a nice look for class. Nike makes a wide variety that come in a plethora of fun spring colors.
Hint: As long as you remotely match, it is hard to go wrong with fashion–especially as spring comes. Mixing casual items with dressier items is a great way to get a balanced look for class.
