As we approach the end of the summer and the excitement of a new semester sets in, opportunities to dress up a little bit may come knocking. Whether it’s for one last big night out or a semi-formal school event, Fashionistos should always be prepared to dress for success! You never know who might be watching. One Fashionisto spotted this week at a new student orientation training session was definitely channeling his inner Gatsby. Here, he is epitomizing a classically chic look with a more modern summer twist. An alternative to the matching suit and bowtie look that Leonardo DiCaprio famously wore in Titanic, our guy at Fordham University is sporting a trendy striped grey and black bowtie. He takes this look even further with a crisp turquoise colored button-down, the sleeves casually rolled-up just below his elbows. His decision to wear a vest both enhances the practicality of wearing a suit on those scorching hot summer days while also giving off a very effortlessly cool Justin Timberlake vibe. Now, he sets this look by keeping the rest of his outfit very monochromatic and simple. A black vest with matching slacks, dress shoes and a modest black digital watch allows this complete outfit to remain low-key, dressy and trendy.
Hint: How do you plan on working the bowtie trend into your fall wardrobe this semester for class? An easy way and probably one of my favorite men’s bowtie styles is to start off with a very neutral base. Keeping clothing colors simple, pair the rest of your outfit with a bold bowties like the ones from Vineyard Vines as a different way to give your outfit a pop of color. These unique patterns and multicolored bowties will not only make you stand out in the crowd, but your vibrant outfit will keep eyes open during an extremely early and boring class.
