Cold weather has finally arrived to South Texas and the fashion feedback from university peers to the chilly winds can definitely be seen through lots of great trends. From pieces like trench coats and blazers to the small warm accessories like scarfs, beanies and gloves, everyone’s wardrobes are filled with cozy and warm attire for the season.
This week’s Fashionisto was not an exception. His ensemble included a charcoal black blazer with layered garments, including a striped cardigan and a white with navy long sleeve sweatshirt beneath. Adding to his look, he incorporated a dash of color using a neutral colored scarf and his attention grabbing accessory, a bright red Puma messenger bag that matched his cardigan.
You too can join the warm and fun trend of layering that is perfect for those late night movie dates or the hot chocolate and bonfire hangout occasions with friends and family. To begin the layering I personally like to wear a undershirt rather than another piece because when you get home and you’re ready to just rest changing to sleepwear won’t be as cold since you’re surely to keep the warmth under the sleepwear once you change. Once you have you’re undershirt, I suggest to either wear a sweater or a formal button-down depending on the event. Some great pieces for layering are lightweight sweaters like this one from Gap.
Stay safe and hang in there Fashionistos, this semester is nearly over. Remember that with this cold weather it’s important to stay warm, fashionable and layer away for the ultimate combo.
Hint: If the type of Fashionisto that has everything perfectly fitted then maybe it’s best to keep the layering minimal and wear looser items towards the finishing clothes. Layering is awesome, but after a few too many pieces the overall outfit gets bulky. In addition, if you’re on the search for some great formal accessories to add to the layering make sure to check out this edgy awesome tie like this one from Kenneth Cole. Kenneth Cole has great variety of items, from shoes to formal button-ups.
