There was once a time that I thought wearing the most extravagant pieces made an outfit unique. Over the years, I’ve come to realize that some of the catchiest looks are the simplest and easiest to create.
We’ve reached the point in the semester where students have started to dress more relaxed and wear more comfy clothes around campus. In fact, I have a theory: The first two months of school are fashionably great. That is, everyone’s ready to put his or her best foot forward and even sacrifice ease to do so. Now, with midterms come and gone, and Thanksgiving break approaching, people have started to merge fashion with comfort more regularly to produce simple fashion.
For example, simple textures, uncommon colors and classic footwear are all examples of simple fashion. This outfit incorporates all of these elements, but works because there isn’t an item that looks out of place. This Fashionisto pulled off the relaxed look by sporting a mustard-colored long sleeve waffle shirt and dark wash jeans. He finished it with gray Converse gym shoes that are perfect for day full of classes.
Hint: To recreate this look and give it a different feel, add a white zip up fleece sweatshirt. Doing so won’t complicate the look, but will bring out the white of the shoes and make the mustard shirt stand out with out being excessive. Life can be simple, but oftentimes overdoing it makes things stressful. Don’t let clothes stand in the way of anything that you have got going on; it all boils down to keeping it simple.
