As we approach the end of the current winter sale period, the fashion seasons begin to shift in tandem, and yet another round of spring and summer beckons. While we continue to experience sub-zero temperatures and gale force winds, retailers are peddling shorts, vests and lightweight tees leaving us in a peculiar scenario. However, even though the weather may be far from warm, that doesn’t mean we can’t start to incorporate some spring trends.
Kicking off on a controversial note, cuffed pants are set to make a steady rise in 2014 (despite an ill-fated phase a few years back.) This Fashionisto rocked cuffed denim with an international cult classic, the iconic men’s desert boot by Clarks. Slim and neat is the way to wear this trend, and that is exactly what this Fashionisto did. Feeling bold? Try this ankle-bearing trend with velvet, wool or even sportswear. This year’s cuff has been applied to everything from sweatpants to suit trousers.
Minus the statement cuff, this Fashionisto is sporting yet another one my favorite spring trends, plaid. He paired a plaid button-down from Cremieux with a timeless wool-blend field coat, like this one by Michael Kors. And to top it all off, he kept cozy with a trend seen all of the fall 2013 runways, the beanie.
So, as you start investing in your new spring wardrobe, don’t be afraid to start sporting your favorite pieces in this chilling weather. Take tips from this Fashionisto and add a classic warm weather pattern to your campus attire.
Hint: Feeling lazy? Swap out your favorite pair of jeans for a pair of Topman’s cuffed trousers. Fulfill all your comfy needs without sacrificing your style.
