With September coming to a close, it’s been a little chilly here in Boulder. But of course, September weather is inherently unpredictable. One day it rains constantly, and the next, it’s miserably hot. Any smart Fashionisto will be sure to dress accordingly this season. Layers are definitely the way to go so you can change your mind when the weather does too.
This Fashionisto’s laid back, hipster style caught my eye from across the quad. I first noticed his ultra-cool beige bomber jacket from ASOS. This isn’t just your average jacket, it has a hint of this season’s coolest color, oxblood. The burgundy color accents the jacket, giving it a fall worthy pop of color. And of course, I love the jacket because he can throw it on outside and still look fashionable without it during class. Stylish jackets are a must this time of year because they are so versatile, yet so practical. In addition to the slim-fit jeans from American Apparel he’s wearing, this Fashionisto pairs a plain white shirt, a classic gray hoodie and a blue button-up underneath the jacket to tie the whole outfit together.
As if his outfit wasn’t already great enough, this Fashionisto ups the ante with some pretty unique accessories. His shoes for example, are from a local shop in Washington D.C. And his wooden beaded necklace is actually from a market in Morocco. Talk about a conversation piece! The Fashionisto doesn’t just accessorize to tie an outfit together, he also lets his personality and experiences shine through. Not only are all the elements of his outfit unique on their own, but they work alongside each other nicely. Thanks to his accessories and trendy clothes, this Fashionisto has a hip look anyone can rock. And while it’s fall now, don’t forget layering clothes is perfect for cooling down or warming up any time of the year.
Hint: There are several ways to make this outfit your own. Try pairing a band T-shirt with a warm flannel. Add a classic jacket that will never go out of fashion to your wardrobe. This peacoat from J.Crew is a great example. Or go for a more urban look with this biker jacket from H&M. Whatever you do, be sure to layer pieces that complement each other and keep it simple!
