LET’S HEAR IT FOR THE BOYS: Greek Week

Let's Hear it for the Boys

This week marks the beginning of pledging season for Tulane boys hoping to become initiated members of a fraternity. While hazing is against the rules, the boys are required to dress up once a week. Some may complain about these rules, but many use it as an opportunity to branch out from their usual athletic wear. Take a hint from this pledge on how to obey the dress code while still adding your own personal style and keeping a level of comfort for class.

A well fitted jacket is a staple piece for business casual attire. This Fashionisto chose a simple navy blue blazer with blue buttons. The neutrality of navy makes creating a polished look quick and easy but black, tan and gray blazers are equally as versatile. This slim fitted Tommy Hilfiger jacket is a classic style that comes in various colors but the corduroy material and elbow patches set it apart from others. This Texas native was able to stick to his roots and personal style by adding a denim shirt layered underneath his jacket. His maroon and gray striped tie stands out from the rest of his outfit when paired with khakis and tan boots. A camel colored backpack with brown leather patches adds some edge to the outfit. Backpacks are great accessories for men because there are endless options to fit every style.

Hint: A denim shirt looks effortlessly cool worn alone with khakis or unbuttoned and layered with a colored T-shirt. Bolder boys can try a complete denim look but make sure to stick to two different shades on the top and bottom.
