Oh, the pledge life. Whenever girls wear their Bid Day shirts and guys strut in their matching button-downs, there’s a sense of conformity and union among these Greek life students. Although I do not personally know what pledging or rushing entails in sororities and fraternities, I do know the pledging boys are easy to spot and easy to admire. There’s something about a well-dressed boy, no matter the occasion, that makes some of us stop and stare or maybe look back twice.
This Fashionisto was on his way to chapter, donning a common white button-down and khaki chinos. Despite its commonness, the tucked-in shirt looks tidy and responsible. A black belt separates the neutral top and bottom and matches the black laces this Fashionisto sports on his boat shoes. Overall, he expresses sophistication and maturity in his ensemble, traits I’m sure many fraternities hope to influence their pledges with.
Hint: If you happen to be pledging as well or participating in an organization with mandatory uniform attire, there is a way to differentiate yourself with your belt and shoes. Choosing different styles of belt buckles and different leather colors for shoes allow for some unique personalization. If you are not pledging but admire this concept anyway, consider the addition of a pullover vest or sweater as the season begins to cool down.
