This week we’re looking at spring trends (for real this time). It’s April and spring has sprung whether Mother Nature throws us a few more winter storms or not. In the fashion world, spring is here and it’s staying.
This week’s Fashionisto is wearing two key spring trends, stripes and brights. Bright colors are really big this spring; Burberry had bright yellow, blue and purple on their runways for this season. I am so excited for this spring’s colors trend because I have had enough with the dull colors that winter brings out of the wardrobes of those on campus.
This Fashionisto incorporates bright colors into his look with his baseball/varsity bomber jacket and his backpack. The baseball bomber jacket is an essential spring jacket for any college guy. They have an authentic and athletic look, which I think guys at Penn State really enjoy going for because it’s such a sports-centered school.
Celebs like Justin Bieber and Chris Brown are currently sporting this trend too — conveniently just in time for baseball season to begin. I love the tri-color blocking of this Fashionisto’s jacket. The stripes on the cuffs of the sleeves and collar is a really cool added detail and similarly with the pockets being blue instead of an all red body.
The thin striped button-up goes well with his bomber. It’s simple and doesn’t distract from the colored elements of his jacket. Plus, like I already mentioned, stripes are back for spring. Lots of different styles of stripes are in, from the nautical look to the classic Breton stripe, thick or thin, multi-colored or not. This spring is the return of the stripes.
Lastly, I really like this Fashionisto’s bag. It is different and in style. Bags with leather straps like this are really popular right now. So whether it’s walking around campus, an airport or whenever a backpack is necessary, I definitely suggest one like this. Its added style and a sense of cool that makes you stand out from the average guy.
Hint: Accessories are just as important for guys as they are for the ladies, so don’t only dress to impress, but make use of your whole look and complement your style with one that is still masculine, like a backpack, yet stylish and convenient.
