LET’S HEAR IT FOR THE BOYS: Floridian Winter

Let's Hear it for the Boys

The winter months are finally upon us and I found a Fashionisto who was sporting an outfit that only a Floridian could wear in December. These are some things that I would do if cold weather actually existed in Florida: frolic around in knee-high boots and scarves, wear a leather jacket and drink hot chocolate without breaking into an uncomfortable sweat. A girl can dream, right?

This Fashionisto enjoyed the comfortable weather by combining a pair of electric blue shorts with a printed purple button-up over a hilarious graphic T-shirt of Kramer from Seinfeld. His loud, perfectly mismatched color scheme and printed button-up perfectly embody how most non-Floridians stereotype Florida: we only wear bright pastels and our topography consists of nothing but palm trees as far as the eye can see.

He allowed his statement T-shirt to do the talking by being low-key with his other accessories. He wore a simple necklace, worn-in sneakers and a hat from his favorite lunch spot in Ybor, The Bricks. If you ever decide to stop in for a bite to eat, try the Bird & Pig. You won’t regret it.

It’s nice to know that, although I’m bitter about it, some people are still managing to enjoy shorts weather. For now, I’ll just keep repeating my new mantra, “Layering comes to those who wait.”

Hint: When you’re tweaking this look for fall, simply replace your bright, short-sleeved button-up with a dark flannel and swap out your shorts for a bold pair of copper corduroy pants.
