Raise your hand if you have ever been personally victimized by fall weather. Well, fall weather in Montecito does not exist after 10 am. Once the fog rolls away, the sun will take over and the temperature will begin to rise. Instead of being frustrated with fall, take this opportunity to style two different looks. Layers, layers and layers! Not only can you take advantage of the opportunity to look good in two different outfits in one day, but it’s also a practical answer to the indecisive weather!
This week’s Fashionisto can pick up what I’m putting down. I spotted him on campus just as the fog began to disappear. His look reminds me of a city boy who grew up in the mountains. The first thing I noticed about his look was the colors. I love that his first layer consists of all gray tones. He doubles up on top with a cool windbreaker that he can easily take off later in the day. This Fashionisto topped off his trendy mountain man look with a great backpack.
Hint: This transition season from summer to winter is one of my favorite times because of the multitude of options for style. Layers mean button-ups, sweaters, vests and coats. I think this season you should dare yourself to go bold in those layers. Let your confidence be revealed through your style this fall. I want to encourage you to wear that leather sleeve jacket or that color-block sweater. You are more than capable of rocking bold layers!
