The leaves are changing, cold weather is on its way and you’re packing your bags to go back to school. That’s right people, summer is over. To me, the beginning of fall means chai lattes, a new planner and exciting new fashion trends. Still, the end of summer always brings goodbyes and a sense of gloom. This Fashionisto has a serious case of the blues, the end-of-summer blues that is.
Color blocking has been an ongoing trend in 2013 but what about a look that features only one color? All blue attire is casual, yet stylish. I love the way this Fashionisto incorporated different shades of blue within one outfit even all the way down to his shoes. A patterned shirt prevents the look from being too simple and the pastel shorts represent a major men’s fashion trend this summer. This look is versatile; it can be dressed up with a blazer and boat shoes or dressed down with a vintage snapback and funky sneakers.
All blue is a fantastic transitional look for the changing seasons. This Fashionisto will fit right in on campus. His light blue shorts are reminiscent of the summer that was and his striped tee is preppy (a style that tends to dominate when college kids hit the books). Swap the tee with a hoodie, add a cool backpack and you’re ready for the new school year!
Hint: This look isn’t limited to just blue. Try all white or all black for a more sophisticated feel. If you do try a one color outfit be sure to mix different shades to make the look more dynamic.
