Winter in Ohio is beyond unpredictable. This past month it has gone from 60 degrees to snowing in the course of two days. With that in mind, layering is key.
A down puffer vest is perfect for the fickle Midwest weather. First of all, you can throw a down vest over most winter tops you already own. Plus it’s warm and cozy without adding extra bulk. You can wear it by itself in the fall or layer a heavy jacket over a puffer during the winter.
This Fashionisto opted for a navy vest. Down vests in navy or tan are perfect because they are neutral enough to go with most tops, but they’re not as basic as black. This Fashionisto paired his puffer vest with an ivory sweater over a pink plaid button-down. Talk about cozy layering!
To finish off the look, this Fashionsto cuffed his slouchy jeans for an extra preppy look. Plus he sported L.L.Bean Bean Boots for extra protection against the snow. The rubber on the front of the boot protects your feet from snow while the leather topper adds comfort. For extra protection from the cold, find a pair lined with fur.
Hint: For added warmth throw on a scarf to finish off the look. Wool scarves are super warm, but they tend to become itchy. Cashmere scarves are just as warm and they’re almost soft enough to distract you from the frigid cold.
