Since Texas has forgotten it’s January and is currently producing temperatures over 70 degrees, the birds are chirping, cut-off shorts are out and the dust is wiped off of sandals. January is obviously the new spring, and love is in the air at Texas A&M University. Between four-dollar movie tickets and cheap dinner dates, College Station is the perfect place for a date night. Date nights give students the opportunity to break out their favorite items and impress their significant other (and everyone…let’s be real). At any point during the weekend you will see your peers flaunting their best; the peacocks of College Station. I spotted this Fashionisto sporting his Friday best right before a date.
Mixing a little bit of southern elegance, this Fashionisto did everything right to impress his date. Combining casual items, such as dark wash jeans with a more sophisticated Ralph Lauren blazer, the overall look has a more “upscale” feel. The blazer is easily removable and versatile giving Fashionistos several looks throughout one night. I like that this Fashionisto paired his blazer with a simple red vintage casual fit Ralph Lauren button-up. By pairing the blazer with a non-patterned shirt, it allowed for a super clean look that was not too distracting to the eye.
His casual watch was the statement accessory that balanced out his blazer. Keeping accessories minimal creates a very conversation-friendly environment as well. My favorite accessory of his look was his worn cowboy boots. Wearing a comfort piece is a must during first impression dates, and could even lead to a conversation starter! Rounding out his look in a matching brown leather belt, this Fashionisto will achieve that second date!
Hint: When shopping for the perfect date night outfit, take notes from this Fashionisto and take a look at the vintage rack. Mixing expensive items like a blazer and a less expensive vintage button-down creates a trendy, second date worthy outfit without breaking the bank.
