Thrifting, re-wearing vintage pieces, or any type of bargain shopping has been a big trend for the last couple of years and has now become a way of life. With all the buzz on fashion blogs, in fashion publications and even main stream music with the popularity of the hit song from Macklemore and Ryan Lewis Thrift Shop, finding clothing at little to no cost seems to be the norm now. Stores such as Salvation Army, Savers and your local thrift shop will surprise you with amazing finds and at such great prices.
This Fashionisto happened to get almost everything he is wearing for free.
This cool multi-colored, printed button-up shirt, which reminds me of the Flinstones cartoon, was gifted to him by a friend. He pairs this with his cut-off denim shorts, which he distressed himself, a nice way to welcome the relaxing, easy-going spring season. The funky bright colors along with the fun print in his shirt is a great pop of interest to this other wise relaxed look. This Fashionisto ties in the neutral colors of black and grey with his accessories. He wears a silver chain tied to the side of his shorts, which is an old Tiffany’s necklace his mom never wore and silver ear candy. He also wears simple bracelets in black, also found in the outline of the prints and buttons in his shirt and shoes.
Hint: On your next outing with friends, make a stop at a thrift store and scout out a fun printed top, or vintage accessories. Take a look through your parents’ old things and see what you can find that will turn your outfit into a conversation piece.
