Each week as I scour campus for the perfect Fashionisto, I find that more people than you would think get embarrassed when being stopped publicly. Not this Fashionisto! He was so excited when I stopped him, which makes my job all the more fun. He was not only fashionable and friendly, he knew exactly how he would look in a photograph; switching up his pose each click of the shutter.
He wears a chambray button-down shirt atop a great graphic T-shirt. Pulling colors from a shirt and making them work for an entire outfit can be a daunting task, but this Fashionisto perfects it and makes it look simple. He doesn’t add too many colors, yet he’s not monochromatic either. To balance out his layered top half, he stays basic on the bottom with a pair of dark tan jeans.
Now to my favorite part – the accessories. This Fashionisto did not go overboard, rather he was minimal but that’s all he needs after putting together such a killer outfit. From top to bottom he wore a burgundy beanie, which again pulled straight from the colors in his shirt. A pair of black framed glasses let the outfit really take it’s shape and could have been complete there, but not for this Fashionisto. He added, my personal favorite piece to this outfit – killer boots. This pair, by Dr. Martens, perfectly suits his look without overpowering it.
Hint: Don’t be afraid to layer this fall. The concept may seem overwhelming, but once you grab a few pieces that stay within a general color palate it’s easy. From there you can mix and match patterns, textures and so much more. Good luck and have fun with it!
