My sophomore year at James Madison University has officially ended. I passed my final exams, watched inspiring graduates walk the stage, said “See you later” to some great friends and captured my last photos of stylish Harrisonburg Fashionistos. Now, I’m back in my hometown and ready to report on the latest trends in Richmond, Virginia.
One of my favorites spots in Richmond is Carytown. It’s an eclectic street full of unique shops, adorable boutiques and delicious restaurants. What I love most about Carytown are the eye-catching Fashionistas and Fashionistos who strut the busy street in style.
As I was roaming in and out of stores, I spotted this Fashionisto walking out of a local boutique called Need Supply Co. As he confidently passed by me with his bag full of new clothes in hand, I immediately knew that he had to be my first Fashionisto spotlighted back in Richmond.
He starts his look off with a pink gingham button-down. A gingham shirt is an easy way to add an accent or pop of pattern into any outfit. Not to mention, gingham is always on trend. Because Virginia has been having a chillier spring, this Fashionisto throws a navy V-neck sweater over his button-down. A light sweater like this is perfect for the cooler, more unpredictable weather we have been experiencing. Next, this Fashionisto wears a classic pair of chino pants, which is a staple item in every Fashionisto’s wardrobe. To pull the outfit together, he wears brown lace-up boots. The loosened style of the shoelaces creates an edgier, yet more relaxed feel to his look.
