Right now is definitely sweater weather, and the San Francisco fog and haze has reared its cold and gloomy head once again. Though we still have a few moments during the day where the sun makes an appearance, for the most part the days have unfortunately become a bit darker and grayer. It was such a day that I spotted this Fashionisto on his way to class to Kalmanovitz Hall.
I’d been seeing different types of sweaters and jackets on other Fashionistos all day, but I particularly loved the cut of this Fashionisto’s. I’ve always loved cardigans on men, and I think they always add a bit of style and chicness to any guy’s outfit. I daresay that I may have a few men’s cardigans in my closet too, and I love how oversized and comfortable they feel.
This Fashioinsto’s navy shawl cardigan looks both warm and comfortable. I love the collar and the detail of maroon stripes. His red T-shirt also adds a bit of pop and style to his outfit too. They’re a great staple for the transition from the winter to spring. On colder days they can be worn buttoned up like a sweater with a thicker long sleeve shirt underneath, while on warmer days they can be worn unbuttoned with a T-shirt underneath like he did. The shawl collar is also a bit more masculine than a regular cardigan, so don’t be afraid to sport one this month by grabbing a plain one here and a striped one here. This Fashionisto paired his cardigan with a pair of light wash jeans and brown boots. Because his Levi jeans are not dark or too light, they’ll transition nicely into spring and even into the summer. I especially loved how he cuffed the bottoms. This look-a-like pair is on sale so grab it now!
Additionally, sturdy waterproof boots are a definite must-have for any Fashionisto, and if you don’t have a pair, you definitely need to grab this one. To finish off his outfit, this Fashionisto toted a Hershel backpack. Like I’ve written before, Hershels are my absolute favorite backpacks. They’re sturdy, come in a variety of fun colors and patterns and can be worn by guys and girls. Treat yourself this semester, and buy one like this Fashionisto did. This Fashionisto’s outfit was the perfect blend of comfort and style. I loved how all of his pieces can be easily worn in both the winter and the spring. Take a page out of his book and the next time you’re out shopping buy some items that will work in the crazy unpredictable S.F. weather!
