It’s already been about a month into the New Year and I’m excited to see all the new fashions 2014 has to offer. I’ve been checking out the upcoming looks for spring 2014 and there’s some exciting new looks. Writing for this column, I’ve taken a new interest in men’s fashion. Pantone’s already released the new color palette for the year featuring colors such as radiant blue, celosia orange, radiant orchid and many more. According to the Business Insider, some of 2014’s trends are going to include: the double-breasted blazer, patterned jackets, printed pants, white suits, high rise pants, color-blocked shirts and bomber jackets.
I was surprised when I saw this week’s Fashionisto already ahead of the game. He was wearing a blue double-breasted blazer along with what appeared to be a cashmere V-neck sweater, as well as a printed button-up shirt. He finished the look with a pair of classic blue jeans and a pair of brown cap toed shoes. He captivated my attention immediately so I couldn’t help but ask what the occasion was and it just so happen to be this Fashionisto’s birthday!
If you ask me, there’s absolutely nothing better in my opinion than dressing up on your special day. Not only do you look good but you feel great. I could tell this Fashionisto was definitely going to have a good day by all the compliments he seemed to be receiving on his attire that day. This look can work for a lot different events: a nice night out with friends, a business casual meeting, a date or an important meeting.
Hint: If you’re ever trying to make an impression on someone consider adding a few blazers to your collection. They work for all sorts of looks depending on what you mix and match with them varying from professional to a simple and casual look. Blazers are another one of those universal fashions. They work for both men and women, year round and the combinations are endless.
