It’s been said that when the temperature drops, so do our moods. The brisk winter air can make anyone want to curl up in bed with Netflix and hot tea, rendering us unwilling or unable to get up and get work done. But no, I’m not referring to the depressed winter slump that many fall into this time of the year.
It seems that Seasonal Affective Disorder hits the wardrobes of even the most stylish Fashionistos. As college students, we see sartorial lethargy every day; at UMW, Campus Walk nearly drowns in sweatpants. Even a simple pair of blue jeans becomes a welcome sight. This Fashionisto went a step further by sporting bright red pants, which he pairs with a chic sweater layered over a checked button down. His classic gold and leather watch is the perfect accessory because it doesn’t overpower the outfit, but rather compliments it. It appears colored jeans or pants are all the rage these days, and they are truly becoming a wardrobe staple.
Hint: To recreate a similar look, start with a great pair of slim-fitting colored pants. I’m loving cobalt right now, but ruby red, dark purple and mustard yellow are great options too. From there, keep it fairly simple, because you want attention drawn to your pants. A plaid button down, sweater or even a graphic tee would look great. Polish it off with a pair of Clarks Original Desert Boots, shoes that I think every Fashionisto needs to own.
Colored pants are a simple and easy way to expand your sartorial horizons. So what are you waiting for, Fashionistos? Ditch the winter blue jeans and get a pair!
