The start of a new year and a new semester is upon us! Although we may be on our way into the “real world,” my inner Fashionista still gets excited to pick out that perfect back to school outfit every time. Just because we’re big kids now that no longer believe in Santa or have designated recess times (okay, maybe some of us still do) doesn’t mean we can’t still get a little hyped to flaunt some fresh style on the first day of class.
I was lucky enough this week to catch sight of a Fashionisto that seemed to share that same philosophy. Choosing to stray away from the typical winter time solids he chose to make a statement by wearing a colorful, tribal print button-down from Urban Outfitters layered over a classic white tank. Oh, and who could miss those shoes? He keeps it interesting with pair of bright blue, electrified Nikes to liven it up even more and add some extra flare. He complements his bold pieces with a pair of dark wash jeans that keep his look modest, but still let his colorfully trendy shirt and sneakers do all the talking.
First impressions on the first day still count, even in lecture halls of hundreds. If this Fashionisto’s outfit alone wasn’t enough, he makes even more of a fashion forward impression with his accessories. He shows off his love of music and fashion to fellow classmates with classic gold Ray-Ban aviators, stainless-steel Beats headphones, a gold Michael Kors watch and a simple gold chain.
Guys, whether it’s your first or your fifth semester, it’s never too late to start making a statement and showing everyone who you want to be this time around. You never know what friendships, relationships or inspiring work could result from a fashionable day about campus.
Hint: Breaking the mold and trying to tell the story of who you are through the way you dress doesn’t have to be hard. Try it by representing where you’re from with a tank on those warmer days, or show off your hobbies and travels by adding some cool patches to your backpack. I can’t wait to see more campus style in action! Good luck this semester!
