As we all commence our new school semester after a long, hot summer, our days are suddenly filled with reunions, excessively long lectures and Starbucks runs. Coffee runs aren’t the only ones our Fashionista/os are making though, because as we head into fall fashion, wardrobe runs are also on top of our to-do lists. First impressions are crucial when meeting new peers, and what better way to kick off the new school year than an impressionable sense of style? I still remember taking hours to pick out the perfect first day of school outfit as a child (I may or may not still be guilty of doing that…) before my mother would take an obligatory first day photo.
This Fashionisto sported an urban ensemble that is both stylish and efficient. His use of essential pieces, such as this season’s must have Ray-Ban Original Wayfarers and Manhattan Portage messenger bag (both in black), gave a simplistic touch that did not interfere with the rest of his outfit. The paisley print on his UNIQLO chambray shirt gave the getup a touch of ultra-trendy personality. Remember boys, detail does matter! Pairing a fun designed shirt with some shorts, or vice versa, really does make a statement. This Fashionisto puts his own touch to the outfit by cuffing his sleeves. Include a pair of mid-top shoes to give your look that extra ounce of sophistication, and you’re set to ace both your classes and your style.
In the midst of a busy college schedule, it can be quite the chore to add on the task of putting together an outfit that screams, “Fashionisto!” However, with the simple addition of a statement piece or some cross-seasonal, chic shoes, there’s no doubt that any guy can pull off an effortlessly trendy look.
Hint: Although it is substantially easier for girls to accessorize than boys, there are definitely ways for boys to spice up an outfit, such as a classic watch. Not only do watches add complexity to an outfit depending on the color, size and intricate, but also it’ll definitely help you get to classes on time during those tight schedules!
