I think there is a serious misconception with the color black. Some people find it boring or harsh, but I must disagree! Black is the color of mystery and when worn right, it can really make an impression.
I don’t know about you, but recently American Horror Story: Coven has been consuming my life and inspiring my own style. Every episode, the Supreme is decked out in black from head to toe and is still somehow completely alluring. Today I spotted this Fashionisto who also seemed to pick up on the trend, so I had to stop him!
From borrowing his dad’s clothes from the ’80s to thrift store finds, I love this Fashionisto’s look. He pulls off black on black effortlessly; even on a sunny day! Check out this jacket to recreate the cool look and try a timeless a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses. My favorite part about any outfit is the watch, and this one from Fossil definitely made my head turn.
This Fashionisto takes it up a notch by mixing different textures. The details in his shoes are subtle and perfectly pull the look together. Sometimes all black can seem a bit harsh, but playing with different textures makes the all black look seem less severe.
Hint: Take cues from London Men’s Fashion Week. Check out Tom Ford’s fall/winter 2014 collection and prepare to be captivated by the shoes he’s famous for. If that doesn’t do it for you, you’re sure to be inspired by Topman’s fall 2014 collection filled with heavy knitwear and sweaters in shades of navy and black.
