Good news Fashionistas and Fashionistos! The sun is finally coming out to say hello in good old College Park. But we’re not feeling the entirety of his warmth just yet. It’s still a little chilly and you still can’t wear those amazing sandals you got on sale last season.
Now that I’m done with my ever so obvious weather report, there’s no need to be down in the dumps because of the little gusts of wind that whip our hair back and forth and make the backs of our jackets fly up—let’s spring into spring!
While walking around campus on this gorgeous afternoon, after what felt like the winter of eternity, it was a pleasant surprise to see this Fashionisto welcoming spring with a grin (or should I say “green”?).
Though it was too cold to bust out the shorts and flip flops, I was digging the bright green pop of color that this young man was sporting. His outfit is impeccably weather-appropriate. His gray slacks and The North Face rain jacket protected him from the unpredictable gusts of wind blowing across campus, and his dark brown Sperry Top-Siders were a perfect neutral touch to this casual ensemble. However, he wasn’t afraid to embody the imminence of warmer days with his bright green T-shirt.
Amongst the slew of neutral colors in this outfit, the bright green hue of the T-shirt is enough to provide variance, while still complementing the neutral tones in the other pieces. Who knew a simple T-shirt could serve as such a bold statement piece? My next shopping stop will definitely be to the T-shirt section of American Apparel.
Hint: Bright solids are not the only way to pay homage to a changing season. Floral prints are very in this season as well. Check out this awesome button-down by Vito.
