The summer has given me a lot of time on my hands — with that I decided to spring summer clean. Although I am still a long way from finishing organizing my bedroom, I have great hopes for redecorating it. Maybe a little too high considering I’ve spent more time researching design ideas on pinterest than actually putting my things away. But during my time organizing all the things I have accumulated within the last few years of college, now packed away disorderly in my childhood bedroom, I found a little buried treasure.
We all have that little treasure, the one that always makes the outfit. Whether it’s your grandparent’s vintage hand-me-downs, that gold watch you found at a thrift shop or even your favorite pair of shoes you bought a few years back at that cool indie store just right out of town. We all have that treasure that we love to base our whole outfit on. We admire its uniqueness and the way it easily falls into place with each outfit we wear.
This Fashionisto’s printed shorts are a buried treasure all by themselves. The unique anchor and mermaid print makes these shorts a statement piece leaving the rest of the outfit to fall perfectly in place. The Fashionisto adds some contrast to the light blue ensemble with a deep blue printed scarf. The scarf’s print of a helm (a ship’s steering wheel) adds interest by mixing with the short’s print. The Fashionisto accomplishes balancing these two prints with the soft blue button-up he wears, keeping the look light and breezy. Following the nautical look, the Fashionisto sports woven loafer-styled boating shoes. Lastly, the Fashionisto completes his look by adding a leather braided belt, sunglasses and a rad gold cross ring — or is it an X? Because we all know, X marks the spot.
Hint: Roll up those chino shorts boys! Not only are you following the great trend of going shorter and more fitted, but you also get to sport those great leg muscles we all know you have.
