Winter is often unpredictable here in Georgia. One morning might bring below freezing temperatures with a high of 60 in the afternoon. This brings challenges, as well as opportunities, to many campus Fashionistas. This stylish student brought her A-game with a wintertime ensemble that was as chic as it was warm. My attention was especially captured by her tan cable knit beanie.
The basis of her outfit was a velvet blazer and skinny jeans, both in black, with a forest green T-shirt underneath. A blazer is a great way to layer in the winter without wearing a traditional coat, especially in a material like velvet. This Fashionista then added eye-catching accessories like her tan beanie, stacked bracelets and colorful beaded necklace.
Her stacked bracelets are extremely trendy with their mix-matched style. Her necklace acts as the perfect statement against a mostly black ensemble yet without being too overwhelming. This triangle and chain necklace from Urban Outfitters would also be a great alternative. Stacking bracelets can often be tricky, but ASOS offers a variety of delicate and chunky bracelets like this one, which provides just the right amount of contrast.
Spotted: Chunky, stacked bracelets at the Fendi spring 2011 show. Check out the chain links and colorful bands.
