With Labor Day comes an ancient rule (really, it is, I looked it up!) forbidding the wear of white clothing through the fall and winter seasons. I have always been a follower of this rule, and although "winter white" and creamy hues of "off-white" are now acceptable during this time, I will still stand firmly behind the restriction of white jeans. I don't know if this seriousness comes from the fact that I wear black on a daily basis, or that I actually agree with the rule, but regardless, my white denim is taking residence in the back of my closet until next summer.
Blue denim, on the other hand, in all its versatile glory, is most welcomed. And what better way to do that than in a shirt? You may be tired of my ranting on interchangeable or neutral items, but deal with it! You can accessorize this darling however you'd like, and this week's Fashionista is a perfect example. Accentuating her waist with a belt works perfectly here, and you can switch up the belt to convey the look you’re wanting.
Hint: Pair it with leggings like she did here, black shorts or a cotton pencil skirt like this one. When the weather cools down simply add tights! You can rock this look with boots or opt for a trendier heeled-clog like these from Steve Madden. This basic piece allows a wide range of possibility, so let your individuality shine through!
