ALL ABOUT BEAUTY: The Braid-y Bunch

All About Beauty

Hair braiding isn’t a modern revolution. In fact, it’s one hairstyle that has not only consistently been in vogue, but also has historic and cultural meaning. Though different styles and twists have different significance in every culture, one thing can be agreed upon amongst all Fashionistas: Any and every braid is the perfect functional summer style to amp up cuteness and beat the heat.

The possibilities with a braid are infinite and the fashion beauty experts are proving just that! John Galliano recently sent his models down the runway in a variety of fishtail braids, while Thakoon’s collection featured French braids swirled in a messy bun on top of models’ heads with spray-on hues for a major pop of color. However, even the most elaborate of plaits couldn’t compete with the simple, yet statement braid Jennifer Lawrence wore throughout The Hunger Games while she kicked major butt as Katniss Everdeen.

This Fashionista took a cue from the classics with a tousled, side-swept braid bound with a thick elastic. Her messy hair twisted into an arrangment like this 's is the perfect representation of chic without trying too hard. Although her hair was naturally curly, not all of us were blessed with such texture. If you have fine, thin hair try spraying a good amount of Bumble and bumbles Surf Spray into dampened hair and running a hair-dryer over before you begin braiding to give yourself an untouched, beach goodness look. If you have thick hair with fewer ringlets, try Bumble and bumbles Defrizz before you get to twisting for locks that shine and are flyaway free.
