ACCESSORIES REPORT: Wrap Me Up

Accessories Report

UBC’s Fashionista of the week has mastered the art of laid-back style that is put together, comfortable and casual. This everyday look is all about the details. For instance, check out her top. It is no ordinary black T-shirt. The tie at the corner adds a great deal of interest. It is hard to find a reliable army green capri that isn’t skin tight and doesn’t add 15 pounds to your lower body. The fit of the pant is baggy, without making her look bulky.

In Canada, scarves are the hottest accessories around. Women of all ages are using them to add a finishing touch to that perfect outfit. It doesn’t matter if they are made of silk or 100% Alpaca wool, they always add a tremendous amount of personality to your outfit. The scarf has allowed this week's Fashionista to bring out her personality by adding a personal touch to her outfit that really brings the outfit together and elevates its chic rating to the next level. By wrapping herself in this patterned scarf, our Fashionista has added interest, texture and comfort.

Her long, shiny locks don’t hurt either – I’m jealous. Don’t be afraid to explore the hole-in-the-wall stores of your city to find unique pieces such as this one. By purchasing a scarf from a one of a kind store, vintage shop or another country it ensures that you will not be wearing the same outfit as your best girl friend. Stand out this summer by adding unique pieces to your wardrobe that will have all your friends searching the city to find it’s replica!

Spotted: This Fashionista is wearing a shirt from H&M, pants from Anthropologie, shoes from Aldo and a scarf that her sister brought back from Paris – jealous again. If you are living in Vancouver, she shared some of her favorite spots to shop. “I find a lot at Anthropologie, but also love to explore stores like Front and Co., where they have consignment as well as new clothes and accessories. After some hunting, I usually come out with something that becomes a staple in my wardrobe,” stated the Fashionista.
