In the cold of winter it’s always refreshing to see someone wearing rich colors, so when I saw this Fashionista I had to take a photo of her. She brightened my day. Now, let her brighten yours too!
Name: Fiona Donovan
Major: Management
Year: Senior
CollegeFashionista: What are your favorite places to shop in Boston?
Fiona Donovan: I love going to Newbury Street and stopping by LF and Bobbles and Lace. They have cool jewelry.
CF: How would you describe your fashion style?
FD: I’m pretty simple, but I like to wear what’s in style.
CF: What is your favorite item in your closet?
FD: I have so many dresses that I love, but my favorite is my teal maxi dress that I used to wear all the time in the summer. There’s something really nice about a flowy, long dress.
CF: Who or what inspires your style?
FD: Penny Lane. I like fun stuff. Penny Lane has that, but also has that rock ‘n’ roll vibe. My friends inspire my style as well.
CF: What’s your biggest fashion faux pas?
FD: I don’t get those Isabel Marant ski boots. They make no sense. I actually still think that they are a joke.
CF: What’s your best tip for staying stylish in college?
FD: If you have more separates, you can make a very new look with different items so that you can feel like you have a whole new wardrobe with the same pieces.
How To: To imitate Fiona’s look try a short dress like this Silk Houndstooth Dress from Madewell and then layer it with an oversized flannel. Keep warm with a thick knitted scarf like this Anthropologie Marled Sparkle Loop Scarf and heavy tights like these Anthropologie Dark Grey Opaque Tights. Finish the look off with a statement headpiece like this Braided Wool Hat from NASTY GAL.
