I’m Kristina Pellien and this is my first semester writing for CollegeFashionista. I’m currently a graduate student at West Virginia University concentrating on fashion merchandising with a focus in digital marketing. I love how social networking brings people together who share a common interest such as fashion; it’s how we get inspired and evolve our own personal style.
My personal style is influenced by the city of Paris, pop culture and art. I love recreating looks from iconic movies and runway shows. Though my style is constantly fluctuating depending on my current obsession or mood, most of my wardrobe has been accumulated through shopping on the sales rack. I’m addicted to a great deal! However, I do believe it’s important to have a few quality pieces. Some staple items in my personal closet are black oxfords, straight legged tuxedo pants and a great peacoat or trench coat that will never go out of style.
When I’m not blogging on my personal style site, Quirky Girlfriend, I’m either attempting to transform thrifted pieces of clothing or am browsing Pinterest for nail art ideas. I love practicing nail art on myself, my mom and all my friends!
I’m so excited to document the varying styles of West Virginia University by putting together your weekly Style Advice posts. Style is what sets strangers apart and is the thing that can bring them together whether it’s online or face to face. I look forward to being inspired by the style on the streets of Morgantown.
