WHAT TO WEAR: Meeting With A Professor

What to Wear

Even though school has been back in session for a little over a month now, it’s never too late to get to know your professor a little bit better, and more importantly, let the professor get to know you. It’s also a great time to ask questions you were too shy to ask in class, along with getting some extra help. It’s rare in college to have a class with under twenty people, so it’s easy to get lost in the crowd and to get entirely overlooked by your professor.

Since office hours are a chance for you and your professor to get to know each other, you want to make a good first impression; meaning, you shouldn’t walk in looking like you just rolled out of bed. You want to dress in way that’s respectable and appropriate to a professor, but at the same time, nothing too fancy. You’re not being interviewed for a job internship.

What I loved about this Fashionista’s outfit was her flattering nude trench coat. Is it just me or does anyone else seriously hope these are making a comeback? I haven’t seen many around recently and this Fashionista reminded me how stylish they are. Trenches are a great alternative to a heavy winter coat and also offer a little bit of protection against the rain. One of my favorite things about this Fashionista’s trench is the cinched tie around the waist. The tie acts as a belt, gives the waist a bit more definition and adds some femininity to it to make it all the more flattering.

One Simple Change: To go from office hours to date night, switch the red colored jeans for a pair of dark skinny jeans and you’re all set for dinner and a movie!
