The University of Toronto so graciously gave us a “reading week” to recover from the two long months of school we've already been dueling out so far. And by reading week, they meant only two days. While it was better than nothing, taking time out for yourself is a MUST! Don't learn the hard way and listen to your body when you need to take a beauty day. Rather than finishing those extra readings, sometimes you need to quit while you're ahead and just take a me day. Eat lunch outside, go shopping, or just read a good book. Your psyche will reward you for it. Don't overload your brain with more information than it can handle. Knowing that there will always be more work that could be done is a fact of life that you just need to accept. Unless you are a above and beyond overachiever and always finish everything on your to do list in which case you are the type of person we like to hate on.
I found this Fashionista on my way out to lunch and I had to stop to get a snap shot of her fab outfit. I love her fresh, pulled together, preppy, clean, chic look. She looks classy and elegant yet ready and eager to take on the day ahead of her. First, her sheepskin coat which was apparently a sample sale score is a fall win! Next, she layered a cotton candy pink collared shirt paired with a black cardigan with a solid pair of jeans and cute little booties to finish it off! Investing in staples such as Ralph Lauren shirts and comfortable jeans that make you feel great are a priority in every girl's closet. After spending my two fall “reading days” in sweatpants and a hoodie in my room trying to finish essays, I was so ready to get back to Toronto and put on a presentable face. It's incredible how what you wear affects how you feel. Just by putting on a killer outfit (even if you don't feel like it) can make a world of difference in how you feel inwardly. We're still in between fall and winter but today was a fabulous sunshine filled day and it completely changed my mood. Make the most of the in between seasons as this Fashionista did by not retiring her fall coat prematurely.
So wake up on the right side of the bed even if it really isn't how you are feeling, slap on a happy face and I promise you it will turn out to be a good day!
