This week was one for the books, temperature wise. Ninety degrees and up, and humid as ever, this is the type of weather that calls for sartorial sacrifices one may think. Fortunately enough, today’s Fashionista shows us how to evade fashion crimes (no matter how hot it is, softball shorts and tanks are only acceptable for working out or 12 year olds) and stay chic in the heat!
When dealing with hot stuffy weather, accessorizing less is ideal. Think about it, do you really want an entire stack of bracelets or a weight-y necklace on your chest in 94 degree weather? Probably not, and neither does this Fashionista. Instead she opts for large statement earrings to spice up a spaghetti strap and pencil skirt combination.
Her choice of earrings happens to be right on trend with the bohemian/gypsy style that has been on and off the runway and the racks in recent years. Givenchy recently showed a resort collection that had gypsy written all over it. To take a stab at this trend, accessorizing with bohemian inspired pieces – feathers and all is the way to go without fully committing to it. Paired with a maxi skirt or a flowy top and jeans, you can easily transform into boho goddess à la Nicole Richie
You can score them at Aldo as well at Forever 21 for half the price!
