Oversized sweaters, infinity scarves and knee-high boots is my uniform during these brutish fall days. Wandering through campus, it’s always inspirational to see how each Fashionista takes the classic sweater and puts his/her own innovative twists on what seems to be the fall dresscode. When I spotted this Fashionista, I admired each touch she put on her ensemble. Her preppy look was refreshing amongst the many bundled students.
This Fashionista looked chic from head to toe. On her way to present her case for class, she was dressed for success. Her giraffe print sweater is exotic, with a print that is not all too common. She follows the trend of prints in fall but found something distinctive to stand out. The neutral tones look great against the layered jean shirt. The layering of this Madewell sweater with the jean shirt is a fun way of mix-matching favorite pieces for a new look. This look is borrowed from a look reserved for men. The popular white collar under sweater look. As many runways love to reinvent menswear for women, this Fashionista takes the same imaginative leap. I give her an A plus, she definitely aced this.
With my eye for detail after years of working in a family owned boutique, I did not pass up on her great add-ons. The double crystal studs are fabulous. This fun costume jewelry that she picked out from Target has close resemblance to Kate Spade crystal earrings. The piece is friendlier to a college girl budget, but still has the shine worthy of Miss Spade. Pairing with a few simple gold bangles adds to this dashing attire, not to mention the boots, with their peek-a-boo lacing in back. They are a drool worthy piece.
Take a note from this week's successful dresser and mix-match your favorite pieces for an overall new attire. It's never to late to reinvent who you are with fashion!
