In honor of USC’s homecoming week and our last home football game, I dedicate this post to Carolina game day attire. There is nothing like SEC football and down south the ladies sure know how to dress for the occasion. Forget jerseys, school spirited T-shirts and baseball hats; in South Carolina girls don black and garnet dresses, cowboy boots and spirited buttons.
While up bright and early to tailgate and cheer on our beloved Gamecocks, this week’s Fashionista stole my attention. Chevron stripes are a recent obsession of mine, but make them black or garnet and I’m all over it! The bold yet classic zig-zag pattern has made its mark on fashion. This game day Fashionista’s dress would make anyone crazy for chevron. A long sleeve shift dress is perfect for the weather, the occasion and right on trend. The pattern is eye catching while the cut and style of the dress remains classic. The garnet necklace completes the outfit and shows the crowd exactly who this Fashionista is rooting for.

How To: No matter what school you are cheering for, game day outfits can be just as trendy and fashionable as any other. You can look great while still demonstrating your school spirit. Always be on the look out for fashionable finds in your college colors. Sometimes it is easier to work with neutral colors (like black and nude) and then bring the school spirit with your accessories—like jewelry or scarves. Dresses are an easy outfit, a one-piece wonder that will be comfortable while cheering in the student section and still look chic. If you are totally crushing on chevron, like me, take inspiration from Mary’s dress (similar here). I love the combination of dresses with boots so don’t forget to throw on your favorite pair of cowboy boots.
