Getting dressed in the morning, as any Fashionista or Fashionisto knows, is all about decisions. Sometimes deciding on what kind of look suits your mood for the day can be overwhelming! One of my personal favorite things to do when deciding an outfit is to mix and match from different ends of the clothing spectrum, whether menswear and girly, brights and neutrals, or, like this week’s Fashionista, dainty and edgy! She manages to walk the line between sweet and tough with admirable ease.
By blending different fabrics like structured studded leather and a soft knit sweater, this Fashionista knows she can create a look that’s all her own without appearing gimmicky. She contrasts the demure eyelet lace of her shirt with funky angular necklace and bold jeans to balance out her look. She also keeps her accessories in monochromatic black to complement her outfit. This Fashionista looks great and didn’t have to choose between being delicate or having an edgy flair!
You can mix up your wardrobe too! If you tend to dress on the girly side, why not try a blazer inspired by menswear or an edgy leather jacket? Are you more of a tomboy? Add some bows or lace to your closet! If you’re more conservative, why not live a little and throw in something studded?
Life is all about making choices, but that doesn’t mean your outfit has to be one way or another. The next time you find yourself stuck between two styles, take a risk and just try both!
