This week's featured Fashionisto dons a new take on denim. Mixing dark-wash jeans with a lightweight, light-wash jacket, senior Max Pearl contrasts colors and textiles to make back-to-back blue hues stand apart. With the cold and rain cutting the recent sunshine streak short, dressing in layers is becoming an every day essential. Pearl's summerweight jacket and tee do just this. Paired with a graphic tee from his unique collection and ruby red Doc Marten combat boots, Pearl's ensemble is a great go-to for the dreary days hitting New York City.
Name: Max Pearl
Major: Cultural Studies
CollegeFashionista: Where do you typically look to for style inspiration?
Max Pearl: My friends (they're very fashionable). A lot of the musician and artists that I like naturally have a cool aesthetic, a lot of party photography and I really like ID Magazine.
CF: If you had to whittle down your wardrobe to five items what would they be?
MP: Black skinny jeans. two all-black button downs, my Timberlands, and probably one of my dictator T-shirts. I collect a bunch of these T-shirts with dictators from all over the world on them.
CF: Is there a trend you're looking forward to wearing this summer?
MP: Really tiny denim cut-offs for when I'm biking. And I'm trying to find a fashionable helmet.
