FASHIONISTO SPOTLIGHT: Joe Hammann

Fashionisto Spotlight

What’s one thing us Buffalonians love? The sun. And any sign of the sun is an excuse to bring out the sunglasses. Even if it is overcast and 30 degrees outside. This Fashionisto is rocking his Top-Gun style aviators, paired with a simple T-shirt, zip-up and khaki pants to create a casual ensemble that’s perfect for a long day of classes.

Name: Joe Hammann

Major: Biology

Year: Junior

CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing?

Joe Hammann: Today I am sporting a zip-up hoodie and an organic cotton T-shirt from H&M. The pants are Dockers D3 bought at SEARS. The shoes are Sanuk baseline made from Super Soft, High Rebound Molded EVA Footbed featuring AEGIS Antimicrobial additive; they are crafted from handmade canvas and are Vegan friendly!

CF: How would you describe your personal style?

JH: I would consider my style to be “budget/eco-friendly”. I like to wear clothes that are versatile and make an impact–not just on my wallet! That’s why I prefer companies like Patagonia and Sanuk. This organic cotton T-shirt from H&M for $5 is great too! I also love plaid.

CF: Do you dress more for comfort or style?

JH:  I dress more for comfort I think; but I also don’t want to look like a slob.

CF: What one item are you looking to add to your wardrobe?

JH:  Definitely something Patagonia. I already have a Better Sweater 1/4 zip, so maybe a Retro-X or Nano-Puff Hoodie?

CF: Any men’s fashion tips you would care to share?

JH: I like being outdoors and working with my hands. I am a simple guy with a simple style. You would never see me in something like a graphic tee or bright green shoes. I like to dress in earthy tones, but that’s just me. Everyone has their own style. Just be yourself.

How to: To recreate this Fashionisto’s look, pair your basic khakis from Urban Outfitters with an orange tee from American Apparel. Put on a blue zip-up like this one from American Apparel and throw on your favorite pair of aviators from Urban Outfitters. Finally, add a pair of Sanuk’s, and you’re all set!
