FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT: Jaclyn Baggley

Fashionista Spotlight

Walking through the construction-ridden streets of the Queen's student village on a foggy Thursday morning, the people were drowsy and the skies were grey. That is until this Fashionista brightened it up with her coral pants and huge smile! Fresh and flirty with a rocker edge, her outfit was completed with a warm attitude that combated against the early October chill. She proves that nothing combats against the deadly combination of morning blahs and jackhammers like a great outfit and a sense of humor to boot!

Name: Jaclyn Baggley

Major: Psychology

Year: Senior

CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing?

Jaclyn Baggley: Both my pants and tank top are from H&M, and both my jacket and boots are from Forever 21, which is appropriate, since my wardrobe consists mainly of those two stores, with a sprinkle of Urban Outfitters.

CF: What is your number one go-to outfit?

JB: My outfit of choice… I have a very pretty Taylor Swift-ish dress. It’s a little bit country and very flirty.

CF: Give three words that sum up your style.

JB: Just three? I would have to say feminine, pretty and edgy.

CF: Where is your favourite place to shop as a university student?

JB: My favourite place to shop is Forever21. It has such a wide range of styles, and the clothes are so cheap. You can buy pretty much anything you’re looking for for under thirty bucks.

CF: What’s your style do and style don’t?

JB: Style don’t for me would probably be fur, especially those huge fur vests everyone is wearing. Style do… I really like the trend of the high-low skirt, or the mullet skirt.

CF: You’re stranded on a desert island. What’s the one outfit you take with you?

JB: Ooh that’s tough. I’m going to assume temperature isn’t a factor and go with a pair of coloured skinny jeans and a sheer flowy tank.

How To: To achieve this look, think Taylor Swift meets Lady Gaga. Too far? Try blending feminine staple pieces with leather (or pleather) accessories to attain your own personal balance of sweet and sultry. Combine a sheer, flowy blouse in a neutral colour with vibrant skinnies and top off with a pair of black boots.
