When I spoke with this Fashionista, she revealed to me that she thinks she wears too much black. In my opinion, there is no such thing as too much black. Sure, prints and colors have the undoubted ability to look great, but black is, and will always be, timeless. I spotted this Fashionista rocking neutrals, which coincided with the unexpected and rare winter weather. She paired skinny jeans with a tall black boot and a gray sweater. She accessorized with an infinity scarf, a gold watch and an eye-catching pair of black and gray earrings.
Name: Krystal Joseph
Major: International Business
Year: Sophomore
CollegeFashionista: What are you wearing?
Krystal Joseph: My boots are from Strut, a boutique on South Congress, my earrings are from Landford Market, my jeans are from Topshop, which I got in New York, my scarf is from Kenneth Cole and my sweater is from a boutique called Kiss Kiss.
CF: Where are some of your favorite places to shop?
KJ: Boutiques and specialty stores when travlening. I prefer smaller boutiques because their options are more unique and limited than most franchised owned stores. I also LOVE to travel, so whenver I visit somehwere new, I try to select things that represent that region or culture.
CF: Where do you usually look for style inspiration?
KJ: A lot of my inspiration derives from my values. I like to dress somewhat conservative but with an edge! New York would describe my style—a black/gray palette. I look for inspiration ideas through different types of cultures, as well as through my mom (a Fashionista herself!).
CF: What is your current favorite piece in your wardrobe?
KJ: Currently my favorite piece of clothing would be my black, collared, lace jacket I got from London!
How To: To get Krystal's timeless and polished look, pair your favorite pair of skinny jeans with a pair of tall black boots, like these from Urban Outfitters. Next, pair any gray sweater with a two-toned infinity scarf, like this one from Michael Kors. Finally, accessorize with a gold watch, like this one from Marc by Marc Jacobs.
