Hi everyone! My name is Kathryn Larocca and I am a current Junior at The University of Iowa majoring in Communication and Art. This spring I will be studying abroad in Rome, Italy at John Cabot University. It will be my first time in Europe and my first time completely on my own. I cannot wait to experience so many firsts and to explore the world. I am very excited to have the opportunity to be a Style Guru abroad and to share with everyone the latest trends from Italian Fashionistas.
I became interested in fashion through magazines. Since I was a little girl, I would patiently await the arrival of my magazine subscriptions at the beginning of each month. As I got older, fashion magazines such as Elle, Marie Claire and Glamour became my new favorites. These magazines furthered my interest in fashion. Starting in college, I became more conscious of how I dressed, and am always looking through these magazines for fashion inspiration. I love seeing the newest trends and creating my own take on them.
While packing for abroad, I included many of my favorite pieces: large sweaters, colored pants, high waisted jeans, boots & booties, funky hats, statement jewelry, and my new favorite…fur. For some reason, I feel like I will be a little bit more bold with my fashion choices abroad. This makes me very excited!
I cannot wait to explore Europe and introduce you to the latest fashions. We all know the theory, “Europe is two years ahead of us in fashion.” Hopefully I can help everyone back home catch up!
