Hi fellow Fashionista’s/o’s! My name is Katherina and I’m so excited to continue being part of the College Fashionista team. For the last two semesters I have been writing the Style Advice of The Week colum but this summer I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to try writing the new Colum Fashionista Intern, since I my self will be interning at Elle Magazine in New York City this summer! I’m originally from Berkeley California however I now attend college at Denison University in Ohio! GO BIG RED! I can’t wait to feature the many fashionable interns that the big apple always seems to attract during the summer months.
My passion for fashion started at a very young age and has become a major obsession of mine. I have always been in-tune with my personal style however, it was not till my sophomore year in high school, were I attended a boarding school in the UK that I became consumed by the world of fashion. European fashion has always been a personal favorite of mine and I can’t wait to explore and learn more about it this up coming fall while I studied abroad in Germany more on that in the fall.
To me being stylish is not just about following the most recent trends but how you make those trends your own. Everyone has their own personal style which reflects who they are and the key ingredient to being a Fashionista in my mind is being creative in how you pair different pieces together. One of my personal favorite things to do when I have nothing else to do, is to put together outfits of pieces I would never have thought of pairing together. I have found this also helps you feel less sick of your closet. I hope you enjoy my post this summer!
