ACCESSORIES REPORT: Auburn Digits

Uncategorized

Salt Lake City has seen practically no snow this season yet. Students around campus are getting antsy and the whole flow of things in the city seems a little bit off. It seems like fall is still holding on with a tight grip. So it is no coincidence that Fashionistas all over campus are inspired by the fall colors whether consciously or not. This doesn’t mean that they are behind on trends as the weather is behind on seasons. Fall colors have been all the rage on fall and winter 2011-12 runways. Reds, mustards, browns and auburns were some of the season’s high notes.

This week's Fashionista incorporates fall colors into her wardrobe with some sleek auburn leather gloves. The great thing about this Fashionista is that she didn’t just incorporate the gloves into her outfit. She made them the center of attention. She starts out with an all black look with the only variation being in her slightly patterned top. This helps give her outfit some interest so when she has to take off the focal point of her outfit she doesn’t look too bland. All black dressing becomes a great canvas for accessories of all sorts, whether you choose to show off a statement necklace, a bright bag, abstract chunky boots, or this season hottest glove trend. Keep you digits warm as your city turns seasons! As a bonus, the auburn color will look real swell when holding the season’s first snowball.

Spotted: Looking to the fall and winter 2011-12 runways gives us great inspiration on how to incorporate auburn gloves into an outfit; making them a part of the whole instead of something that just warms your hands. Prada goes for a bright variation on the auburn trend by adding gloves as a contrasting color in the mod collection. Hermès incorporates auburn gloves as part of a monochromatic look. Dsquared² gives the trend a Western feel — think riding gloves. Finally, Sportmax shows us the unexpected by pairing cozy auburn pieces with flashy sequence ones that help each other stand out.
