As I’ve said before, the fashion world is cyclical: trends come in, go out, and come back again. In Arizona, we have a great variety of thrift stores to choose from with great vintage options, so why not build your wardrobe for less and help the environment by repurposing? In light of the recently celebrated Earth Week, this week is all about embracing the old by making it new – with vintage finds.
This weeks Fashionista was walking down University Boulevard when I spotted her in her retro-inspired outfit. I loved how she chose a more traditional tie neck shirt with a modern graphic print. She also created a lovely structure by tucking the flowy blouse into a '70s style brown, A-line skirt and added height with a contemporary cage, platform shoe. Lastly, she topped it all off with classic cat eye sunglasses and a deep-red lip.
Hint: My favorite stores for vintage finds are Buffalo Exchange and Plato’s closet. However, if you are in area with few vintage store options, try your local Goodwill or Etsy for online vintage finds. You can also try vintage inspired stores like Modcloth, though not as eco-friendly they are equally as fashionable.
